Thanks for jumping in. I have just returned from my 12th session; 3rd with Bioenergetic exercises. I will probably get "bumped" as I am getting off forum subject. My EMDR has been set aside for now, as I was not responding; not "getting anything" with the sets. The recommendation is that Bioenergetics may be more aggressive in accessing the emotions, and when it does we shall return to the EMDR for specifics. At least, that is my understanding. I haven't bent backwards over the stool, yet. I just saw that illustrated in Lowen's book and figured we would get to it sooner or later (since he featured it in the book). Today's exercise was quite painful: placing a broom handle on the floor and inching my weight on both feet across it bit by bit while taking deep breaths. However, the slamming the padded mats seemed more theraputic, but NO NEW EMOTIONS emerging. I don't know if this is the approach I need or not. It seems all too casual, as I have a serious problem, and am getting nowhere. If you don't mind, maintaining your anonymity, please define your reason for seeking EMDR or BIOENERGETIC therapy and define "time consuming."
