I have the sense that you are looking for therapy to "do" something. That is not how therapy works, the client has to do the work and it is not always easy. If you feel and believe that you need help, then you, and only you, can find what works best and move with it. There are no perfect answers in this world and no perfect way to solve problems. I have spent the past 2 - 3 years in weekly therapy sessions, it has been a long haul and therefore time consuming in that regard. That is how it has been for me. I have stuck with it even when I have questioned whether it was working or not. One step forward and 20 back it seemed at times. Has it helped, yes of course. I feel now in a way I never did in my life, calmer and more balanced. I sense that my responses to things have changed. I have also had to use medication to help with anxiety and depression. Then, there is eating well, something I always did, and being more conscious of exercise. Sometimes just getting outdoors for a walk makes all the difference. Each person has to work on it for themselves. There are no quick solutions. Some approaches work better for some than others, some approaches work better for one person at one time than another.
