Well, as you may know if you have read this forum before, we don't do specific case consultations here. So I will offer only general comments. 1) Review of this forum's history will provide discussion on the use of EMDR with dissociation. 2) EMDR for dissociative clients needs to follow a special protocol. 3) Headaches in EMDR are sometimes evidence of a dissociative process, or an inner struggle in which one aspect of self is at odds with another aspect of self. 4) EMDR for dissociative clients should be conducted by practitioners with knowledge of treatment of dissociation in general and with specific knowledge of the protocol for EMDR for dissociative clients. 5) Any client having a bad reaction after an EMDR session should discuss this with their therapist right away. If the client is dissociative, they should be working with a therapist familiar with dissociation and EMDR, and ego state therapy as an approach. 6) A therapist who isn't sure what to do in this situation should seek consultation on the specific case. You may wish to print this out and take it to your therapist.
