there is no therapist here, associated (ISSD) or knowledgeable (Sidran) according to them. that was my original problem - the EDMR specialized training for DD, was (is?) the closest i thought i'd get to the ISSD guidelines. thanks for your patience with this. there isn't a problem with the lack of therapists willing to treat DID - since most don't feel DID requires specialization beyond sexual abuse issues and trauma work. i've experienced beoming worse when dissociation is ignored. it's not something i want to repeat. i also can't do the charts (DBT). i did recieve a list of EDMR therapists, it referenced the specialized DD training, and i got additional reccomendations for those that had the most experience. i wasn't comfortable with understanding level vs what i had read, yet wasn't sure 'why'. no one questioned my ability to do the process - some gave me short time frames required, a couple offered 'demonstrations', all knowing my background. it's confusing. i wish this were a perfect world and i didn't need to know all this and could 'trust' whoever to know what i needed as 'the professional' - but it's not. i (the 'internal therapist') have a better understanding of the process now and i thank you for that - from what you've stated, we are aways from 'beginning' active EDMR therapy and the EDMR coverage for this stage is variable.
