    It is my continued harangue -- everytime I talk or consult with EMDR practitioners -- about screening for dissociation and treating it appropriately. Most don't know about DID. Most think "dissociating" is something some does as a defense, just checking out....and don't know about what habitual dissociation does to the self structure.

    I think all DID folks can do is what you are doing -- interview like heck, and don't launch into EMDR with someone who doesn't use a protocol that involves containment and stabilization, fractionation, closure at the end of each session, consent from the self system. That's my opinion.
