Just a caution that we don't give case consultations here since we don't have enough informatioh to do a safe and thorough job. Mental health professionals, let's be sure to couch all our replies (from mental health professionals to clients) in general terms so we don't give the incorrect impression that we can or should be "treating" people here. We aren't and can't. Soooooo.....as a GENERAL comment here's the rule I'd use that may or may not apply to the poster posing the question here: - If someone is processing and a body sensation comes up, including a headache, I'd say go with that and see if it just processes. That's the standard approach. - Then, if it loops, or if the headache persists, that would be a clear sign to do a cognitive interweave. Talking to it is one good cognitive interweave. We just give it a voice to energize it so it has sufficient strength to be heard and owned and felt. There are other cognitive interweaves as well. It is an error to talk to a body sensation the minute it surfaces tho.
