Thanks for the pointers and clarification. I think the problem was that my old therapist was immediately talking to the sensation as a "part". Which felt fragmenting/intrusive to me. So I became wary of mentioning sensations, and I am confused by my new therapist's more laid back approach. (Although I like it and find it very helpful.) Sometimes, re: energy work, I do reiki or tapping in session. My current therapist is very approving of such techniques and pretty noninterventionist. Whatever works. :) I haven't gotten stuck with a body sensation so far. They usually dissipate immediately when my therapist says "stay with that". That's all the acknowlegement they/I need to process through. I tend to get stuck in mind states, but if I can correlate them to a body sensation they, too, process through quickly. Fortunately, such correlations work well with energy techniques. I also find myself mixing up bls and energy type tapping, with very good results. Thanks again for the responses. I believe my confusion has now processed through. :-)
