I hear that DNMS is no longer considered by Schmidt or it's practitioner's to be a form of EMDR, but is a protocol unto itself. As such, maybe we shouldn't even be discussing it here. :-)

Ftr, when I first started DNMS, I was told it was an alternative form of EMDR, an easier and safer form. Now it is "not" EMDR... a technical but important distinction. I believe that the semantic change is meant to separate DNMS from EMDR as fully as possible, so it will not be held to the standards of the EMDR community.

I wouldn't want DNMS bringing down the reputation of real EMDR, in any way, so I think the distinction in a good thing.
