I guess DNMS practioner's would steadfastly say that the "charateristics" installed with the meditations aren't "new" parts but preexisting parts that the client is merely connecting to. Unfortunately, for DID clients such characteristics are often "held" in different and perhaps opposing "parts of self". Thus attempting the meditations becomes a premature, forced integration. It is destabilizing, which is not the intent of the meditations. They are supposed to provide a "container". Unfortunately, DID is it's "own" sort of container. Imposing a new and differnt organization onto a DID system is risky. And, as you say, generally, the first rule is to create no new parts. Thanks for the dialogue. :)
