Hi, I am wondering about how generalization "looks" clinically or how it feels... how it is reported by clients, I mean... I am asking because I seem to make a lot of connections after sessions. Almost like following a cookie crumb trail :) of thought and emotions, discovering intersections and connections, going on after other trails... sometimes this will happen for hours, usually days, it is not a deliberate process, but seems to happen without conscious effort. Very often something happening in the present will connect to a past event, or a theme from a session, in a connect the dots sort of way... It is sometimes unpleasant, sometimes I get stuck, although I get stuck less and less over the past months as I continue therapy, and I learn ways to get "unstuck" on my own. Mostly it is very pleasant, although disconcerting, it feels as though I am "washed" internally. I am wondering if this sounds like generalization...? And what facilitates it...? Thanks! :)
