Hi Sandra, In the last 6 months have added a huge new piece to the DNMS, about working with maladaptive introjects of all kinds. I have found it to be tremendously effective for perpetrator introjects and others too. It is based on the idea that a maladaptive introject is a mimic of an abusive, neglectful or dysfunctional role model (e.g. parent, babysitter, sibling). This part of self is really a wonderful innocent child wearing a mask/custume of the role model and mimicking him/her. Just like a child dressed up in a witch's costume on Halloween, the child acts like a witch while wearing the costume, but being a witch is not her true nature. I assert that the true nature of the child inside the costume is to be respectful of self and others. DNMS involves meeting the needs of the child inside the costume. As her needs get met the costume begins to fall off, and by the time she is totally unstuck the costume is gone. No more maladaptive introject. It works really really well. Thanks for asking. Shirley Jean Schmidt
