Quota from Shirley Jean Schmidt’s website located at: http://home.satx.rr.com/sjsandjgs/sjs-faq.html “The DNMS integrates EMDR techniques with a needs-meeting protocol, to ensure that all unmet needs from each developmental stage get met now. As these crucial needs get met, clients become unstuck from the past, and symptoms (such as insecurity, depression, anxiety, rage, self-destructive behaviors, etc) will disappear. With the DNMS, EMDR trauma processing is not usually required because most developmental traumas desensitize automatically as the needs for safety and protection are met in the present.” Question: The above states EMDR trauma processing is usually not required. Do you know if this includes those with DID and possible programming issues? Appears to be promising for those who are unable to manage strong emotions or are overcome with disbelief, these feelings being desensitized automatically. How does one manage to keep “traumatic thoughts, feelings, sights” suspended while doing eye movements? What’s the difference between DNMS and RDI? I realize this is an EMDR forum; however, it appears to me, that DNMS and RDI are outcomes of EMDR? Appreciate your time.
