To your questions: 1) RDI and DNMS both access internal resources (through various means), then use alternating bilateral stimulation to strengthen them. (Alternating bilateral stimulation is a component of EMDR, it is not the same as EMDR.) 2) You are correct. DNMS will not get child parts unstuck without processing emotions. Step 8 of my 20-step protocol processes through those strong emotions very quickly because the work is done in the presence of very supportive resources. 3) DNMS very much requires child parts experience and own their emotions. It is easier for child parts to do that when supportive resources are present. DNMS uses alternating bilateral stimulation to enhance and strenghten a supportive relationship between internal resources and stuck child parts. With DNMS, the resources can provide a complete corrective emotional experience required to heal a child part's old wounds. With RDI, resources are used to strenghten the ego and stabilize the client (or child parts) before EMDR (the 8-phase protocol) is used to desensitize specific traumas. I hope this helps,
Shirley Jean
