To Sandra: Please refrain from utilizing EMDR in therapy or advising individuals on this forum. Too much is at stake here, and in all the studies of EMDR that have been well controlled, EMDR has either turned out to be no more effective than placebo or no more effective than relaxation training, which is only step one of a full treatment plan. The studies show that EMDR is no more effective than other exposure techniques, and evidence indicate that the eye movements integral to the treatment, and to its name, are unnecessary.” You are welcome to talk about your blind faith in EMDR, but I try to discourage people from telling other people what they should have blind faith in. (See eyes don’t have it, below.)
