Simply implying a dissociative disorder is irresponsible in my opinion and that is what I asserted. In addition, recommending any treatment is also inappropriate in cases such as this when you know nothing substantial about the individual. I guess some feel that EMDR is a panacea and that one-size-fits-all therapy is right regardless of the problem. I strongly disagree and find this behavior most troubling when clinicians are so ready to recommend EMDR without knowing anything at all about the case. Especially because EMDR is not known to be efficacious for most disorders. I also am disturbed by the amount of non-professionals who participate in this list and who are encouraged to do so. This list was set up as a discussion among professions and not as a public advertising machine for EMDR. There are other lists for EMDR clients to express themselves. Brian
