I don't wish to continuously quote the language in question, which might be restimulating to Martha if she is reading this. Instead, I invite the reader to return to the original question in this thread to see if my inference that there are bags of pain is a speculation or an accurate reflection of her message. On so doing myself, I find that her human plea is completely transparent and comprehensible, regardless of the contents of the bags and their secrets. My caution stands. To not hear a clear message when it is offered is itself a kind of distortion --there are false negatives at stake as well as false positives. On this you and I concur, Brian, that caution must guide us. With the kind of power tool that EMDR practitioners use, false negatives are every bit as risky as false positives.
