I am a CSW in private practice and deal mainly with children and adolescents. I have a 26 year old female client with a pretty extensive history of physical, sexual emotional abuse from a young age until just recently. She has been diagnosed with PTSD. I have been seeing her for about 2 years now. She is extrememly intelligent and amazingly functional given her history, but she is not able to identify feelings at all and is extremely guarded in out sessions (all understandable). She has some serious trust issues and I cannot seem to be able to get her to open up AT ALL. She is growing increasingly contrary and seems to shut down the minute I ask a question. Does anyone have any ideas?
