    Does disappointment=shame?

So, does disappointment equal shame in all cases? It seems to me that this is the case by definition. When I apply this to my own experience it doesn't seem to be the case. However, further reflection makes me think they are equal and that I'm just misled by the intensity. I usually equate shame with significant discomfort. However, I believe there are mild disappointments accompanied by shame so mild that I never identified it as such.

I guess there are also cases where the disappointment is related to complete reduction of interest-excitement. In those cases shame may not be experienced.
