What if the client is not ready for the memories..

that the EMDR will trigger. I am scheduled for an emdr due to PTSD, and major depression that has caused me several problems, because I have repressed a lot of garbage. I am not sure if I am ready to dig up some of the stuff from my turbulant childhood. I just am scared that it will hurt too much.

I know this forum is usually for clinicians, but I am running out of options so for research, and I need some input from people that have seen the effects.
