EMDR and Unilateral Neglect Following a Stroke
    Gail Byrd, P.T. · 10/18/00 at 12:20 ET

Is there any research or precedence for using EMDR for people with severe unilateral neglect following a stroke? These people are sub-acute and progress with their therapy is hindered because they are not able to cross mid-line and incorporate their contralateral side. Some people are so "locked in" that they cannot perform bed mobility, transfer to a chair or achieve safe sitting balance because their other side does not exist for them. Standard therapeutic techniques are often frustrating for all involved. Your reply would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
