Typically, unilateral neglect (without bilateral stimulation) acts the way you described. That is, with prompting, some patients are able to remember to look to their left, own their arm, etc. Then they forget again. I also tried EM with an individual with left hemineglect and anosagnosia following a right-hemisphere stroke. The EM was discontinued after a few sets due to his discomfort (dizziness, not sure if it was trauma related or stroke related) but during the time I used the EM it made no apparent difference in left-sided awareness.
