The specific questions should be: The explicit frame for the questions is: I am curious about the antecedents of EMDR, if any, and not comparing EMDR on a point-by-point basis with NLP, since, as you say, NLP is not the point of this group. So... 1, Can you ask Dr. Shapiro if she worked in the Santa Cruz offices of Grinder, Delozier and Associates some time in the 80's? 2. Did John Grinder teach her the technique he claims to have taught her? (an eye movement pattern, as descrived by Caefu). 3. If this pattern has been in existence in NLP for some 20 years, why does she not acknowledge the antecedent, as is customary in scientific literature? This takes nothing away from what she has done since then. All the above are reality based descriptions which could be verified, I am sure. If the answer to 4 is "none of your business" to what is only a yes/no question, my alarm bells would be sounding! The only reason the questions come up is because of her claim of spontaneous discovery, hence, all the credit goes to her. I have been trained to a Master Practitioner level in NLP, and all I can say is that the first time I saw a demo on TV, I thought to myself -- "they are using basic NLP." Thank you,
4. If her income tax records were pulled for the appropriate years, would they show that she worked for John Grinder's company? Not that I want them, just what would they say. Come to think of it, if he was her employer, there may be paperwork left over from his company in those days.
