You deserve a careful history, assessment, diagnosis and meticulously planned treatment. None of that can we offer here, I am so sorry to say. Being cautious is always a good idea. Before proceeding with EMDR, any client deserves a prescreening for a dissociative disorder (always, not just for you, always!), and a careful plan to ensure there are adequate client skills in place for containment of strong emotions between sessions, a "safe place", and so on. Double sessions and rides home are also good precautions. Your therapist should make sure all these steps, precautions, and preparations are present or refer you to someone who can. Best of luck to you.
