Dear Dr Paulsen: I was/am familiar with the EMDR book by Dr Shapiro written for public dissemination. However; being someone who is in the process of working towards a degree in psychology, with the intentions of moving on towards a Master's in Art Therapy and a Doctorates in clinical psychology, not interested personally in reading something written for the Barnes and Noble crowd. I've gone to the EMDR site, and most of what is posted there on the studies is inconclusive. How were the studies conducted, were they experiments, or instead surveys, who reviewed them and do the studies have statistical validity? The list goes on, but you get the general idea. Do not mean to be a skeptic here, but if I am going to drag all of those old skeltons out from the closet and give them close examination, and suffer the inherant pain associated with doing that, then I want to know that the process is going to accomplish more than seeing me in tears. As for your wishes of luck in my journey, they are much appreciated. Thanks for the response back, and shall continue searching for more information. Respectfully Sherwood
