I have come across some new information, and I have taken a look at a few of my patients as having the criteria to fit the information found. I have been working in the Psychiatric field for 15 years now, and although I have seen some evidence of the information given to me through practice to be true, I have been very skeptical, because other collegues seem to feel that this is not an issue of importance. The information talked about people who are gifted, and their outlook on life is completely different, and more intense than the average patient. I have one case study in particular that I believe, very strongly, fits under the criteria. The information was passed on by a fellow collegue who expressed some concern about this being a possibility. It all come up in a summation, that there are people out there with superb gifts, and talents, and they are extremely intelligent, but because they have been found to have different forms or levels of anxiety, that cause a great deal of turmoil in them, get passed over for the type of treatment given to someone who has anxiety disorders. I would like to find out if there is any professionals who agree with me, that this might be why some patients go for so many years, without any type of medical treatment, or any form of therapy resolving any of the issues that these subjects carry. I would really appreciate any discussion from a fellow professional, on her/his thoughts on this theory being a possibility, and if so, how can we as professionals deal with it, so that the subjects are getting the right form or treatment, and some alleviation from their distress.
