As I recall reading years ago, didn't Erickson have some bizarre transpersonal experiences when he was young and incapacitated by polio? I remember thinking when I first read the accounts that it seemed similiar to the kundalini experience spoken about in the East. Is it possible that Erickson's exceptional abilities might have, in part, been the result of his entering a level similar to satori, or enlightenment, if you will. I know this sounds silly, but the way he is described by those close to him sure sounds like people talk about other "enlightened ones." The fact that Erickson never spoke about these things, to your knowledge, is in keeping with the way other "enlightened ones" have behaved. Thanks for listening.
