    Erickson and Spirituality
    by Jeffrey K. Zeig, Ph.D., 12/8/97

Erickson did not discuss spiritituality during any of the time that I spent with him, either. He was a rationalist and did not have truck with transpersonal explanations. He maintained that what he did and experienced could be described in concrete, scientific terms without the necessity of using esoteric reasoning. Some of his autohypnotic experiences are recounted in a paper entitled, "The autohypnotic experience of Milton Erickson," in the American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis, 20, 1977.

    Thanks for your inquiry!
