Over the past couple of years I've had some emdr sessions to which I've had some strong reactions (according to therapist's point of view) and, so, we have been moving carefully with emdr. Have had symptoms of traumatic stress and depression for most of my life, have always managed to cope with these. Couple of years ago another crisis pushed me further and I developed full-blown PTSD. I've been reluctant to try anti-depressants until recently, never been a person who likes to take medication and so I'll try everything else first. I'm wondering how the medication will effect emdr sessions. Will it help me to process things better and have less strong reactions? (therapist was more concerned about my reactions than I was) Will I have to go back and finish some things once I come off the medication or will things get processed as needed while using medication?
