    EMDR for anxiety and phobias
    M. Johnson · 10/03/01 at 12:52 ET

A therapist has recommended that I consider EMDR as a treatment option for anxiety and phobias, however, after reading a number of the postings on this website it appears that it may be quite risky. I would be interested in hearing comments regarding risks vs. benefits. It seems that many people leave EMDR sessions feeling badly. Any suggestions as to how to control the level of potential discomfort would be appreciated. Believe me, the last thing I need to feel is "worse," especially when I have to pay for it! Thanks
