    No I don't believe that all EMDR critics are motivated by jealousy. But I have seen first hand that some EMDR critics aren't as objective as they perhaps believe.

    I think the original point here that I was making was that IF (taken as a premise, not a truth) EMDR were simply exposure, then academics inclined to exposure treatment should be celebrating its acceptance in EMDR with so many practitioners taking it on the road.

    We see a different variation in a few psychodynamicists who expect treatment to be invariably slow -- there is cognitive dissonance or some such motivation that makes it hard for them to accept the speedier results.
