I never was (or would be) concerned with anyone's ethics in providing a service (such as EMDR) to people who voluntarily pay for it. If money is being handed over by adults, then it is my view that it is ethical for EMDR practitioners to take in as much profit from EMDR as people are willing to pay for it. My interest is in the theory of EMDR. As to the "organic" experience, since Homo sapiens are organic creatures, how could they be capable of any other type of experience? The best response to my criticism regarding authority is that all therapies presume the expertise (authority) of its practitioners, even the most "collaborative" types, including "nondirective" therapies. EMDR is no different from the others.
