how often do we hear stories like this about cbt and exposure? Never, I'll wager. This is an EMDR phenomenon. >

Actually it is quite consistent with placebo treatments, including observations from your everyday tent-revival or (as only one example) Mesmerism. Are you suggesting that EMDR is a power combo of these? lol
