Predicting whether EMDR would work for you in particular is the one thing we CANT do here -- not a suitable format for it. What I can do is say a few general things. Fear of flying is a phobia, specifically, a process phobia. EMDR has been used successfully, per clinical case reports, for years with fear of flying. The EMDR protocol is a little different than the standard protocol, because it targets each micro-piece of the flying process, down to packing the suitcase or wherever the anxiety starts. There would also be a targeting of, probably, the first time the problem occurred, the worst time, and the most recent time. The usual screenings and safety precautions would be taken, because they should always be part of the process. Therapist selection should include making sure that the therapist knows the process phobia protocol.
