some times dissociative people process fast, very fast, because they are like a house with rooms. We are vacuuming out only the entry way so it only takes five minutes. The walls are firm and stop the processing. If the processing stops there it may be okay, that is, no damage. If we persist with EMDR, we will take down walls that are holding up the roof. EMDR should not be conducted with people who are DID without all the preparation of stabilization containment and so on (see prior discussions). point two.... the above discussion has described well very well ....why ego state therapy that has a visual component of dissociative table -- or looking at parts of self in an internal conrference room ---is potent. parts get to have a rapprocement with self visually whichy is profound and lasting.
