    emdr and transference

I feel I may get something rotten thrown at me for putting these two concepts together. But here goes:

I, and a friend, have both had experiences with emdr t's who are, to be blunt, arrogant and caring, but in a very corporate, not personal way. I know emdr is supposed to work wonders, I've seen it work wonders... but why the emotional detachment from the t's involved?

I know that maybe it's just idiosyncratic to these two t's. But both are well known and highly recommended. Can you tell me if this is something which has had anything written on it or any research done?

Does emdr theory allow any room for things like transference or, more simply, client discomfort with the therapist, not with the material? Or is it all assumed to resolve with enough emdr?

    Thanks
