Please could you help me. I have suffered from social phobia, and more specifically blushing, for over a decade. I've tried hypnotherapy - with no success. At the moment I'm seeing a behaviour therapist and undergoing cognitive behaviour therapy. Although I've only had 5 sessions (each between 1 & 2 hours long), so far very little has changed. My mind (and all the automatic negative thought patterns) are proving very resistant to this cognitive restructuring. My therapist has now briefly told me about EMDR, and she hopes to start this with me in my next session. I have to admit, from what I've heard, it sounds encouraging, but I'm not getting my hopes up too high. Can you tell me a bit about EMDR, and how it may help with social phobics, and what the success rate is like, many thanks, Dave Steele.
