You are again selectively quoting: Dr. de Jongh makes clear the utility of both cognitive behavior therapy and EMDR in the treatment of phobias. You seem to believe cognitive behavior therapy is the only true treatment and EMDR is somehow simply "placebo." That is not a stance supported by the controlled research. You have been disrespectful to the clients and clinicians on this list by asserting that to be the case. Rosen's article is patently absurd and filled with misquotations. If you read any number of review articles by Greenwald or myself you will find that the EMDR procedures have been stable since 1990 long before any replication research was published. The Journal of Anxiety Disorders article I cited lists all the protocol violations of the phobia studies. These protocols have been in existence since 1990 long before any of the phobia studies were published. You seem intent on projecting a "turf war" between EMDR and cognitive behavior therapy. That is inappropriate. Both have their place in the clinician's repertoire. Both have been validated by independent reviewers.
