March 7, 2002 Does the typical psychiatrist accept new patients pretty much regardless of their diagnosis, or do most psychiatrists tend to refer new patients whose conditions are not in their area of specialization? As you can imagine, this sort of open-ended question is a challenging one to answer through independent Internet research. Would you venture an opinion on the question?
