I was wondering about internet addiction and the socially isolated individual and potential harms.

I was reading an article regarding the benefits and risks about the internet.
For individuals who feel socially incompetent, the internet may help them to learn social skills at best. On the other hand, they may become socially isolated .... & ???? ...an internet addict..... ?????
The internet is still afterall a "communicative medium", so to speak, isn't it?

Does anybody have any views about this?

Also, I was wondering about potential risks, like teenagers being exploited on the internet. Is it similar to concerns regarding television violence? Is there not an alarming concern in this area?
Are there many cases about teenagers who have been in danger because of the internet?

Hmm,.... I think I ought to stop babbling.... :P
