    SSRI'S AND DOWNMODULATION OF SHAME
    by JOHN HASSLER, 4/14/97

This is my first experience with this forum. I am pleasantly surprised and overwhelmed with all the stimulating information at this site.

Jim Pfrommer's (Response to Shame, 4/16/96) statement : "When many people question why the SSRI meds help some anger or temper problems even when no depression is present, it is due to the down -modulation of shame in a person who has a tendency to use attack other." has left me wondering what is meant by down-modulation of shame. Would the outcome be apathy?

Jim, could you say more about your statement. You have really got my attention on this one. Thanks, John
