I too am more of an intuitive, not scholarly type. My training left me unimpressed, turned off to the establishment. I became eclectic and felt very much like I had to face clinical realities first hand and figure out what I was seeing and what I could do to be helpful. The absolute respect for the uniqueness of this particular human being I am working with became (and still is) my guiding light. My knowledge, my experience, my "technique" have all improved over the years. My guiding light stays the same - but I bring much more with it than I did two decades ago.
