Thanks for your kind welcome. I couldn't agree more with your thinking that it makes no sense to attempt to under- stand behavior without looking at the related affect(s). It's validating to me to hear this from you! What I have read, studied, pondered, and learned of shame in recent years as a student and the knowledge I have acquired experientially of shame across my lifetime all bring me to a resounding YES to affect theory as I under- stand it from yourself and Tompkins, as it seems to so soundly account for so much.
