PSYCHOLOGY OF CYBERSPACE

    re: anonymity undervalued

How nice to hear you (I mean read you) joining in, John... The term "anonymity" is interesting. Literally, "without a name." But we DO choose a name in cyberspace, tho it's different than our birthname (sometimes). And we do present a self (identity) even tho it may not be the same as we usually present in ftf interactions. If the username we choose reveals something interesting about us, and if we tend to reveal more about ourselves in the "comfort" of cyberspace, is it possible that we are, in some ways, more "anonymous" in the ftf world?
