"Where the line is crossed though...since the issue of authenticity is very important to me, as an onliner with "frequent-surfing miles", is that once in a "relationship" with someone...you need to be honest about those parts that you are enhancing etc." I agree with this. In fact, the relationship really doesn't progress beyond a certain point UNLESS people become truthful about who they are. Being untruthful about one's physical appearance or status in life (job, marital status, living situation, etc) can feel like a very manipulative deception. "Enhancing" one's personality traits, though, becomes a much more intriguing dilemma. Who's to say that one's online personality is NOT the "real me?"
