It is a good question. I believe that one of the beauties of the internet is that in terms of personal development you have an opportunity to "try on or out" different aspects of yourself. (ie. being more extroverted) Albiet in a virtual reality environment. That is not to say that who you present is not who you really are. But, now I'm wondering ...who are we then...who we are inside or how we present outside (irl)? I'm sure this is an age old question...How do the theorists answer that (psychological, philosophers)? I'd need to dust off my psyschology books to find out... People are always "trying on or out" different "masks" of themselves..we can see this in the work setting or at the local pub. I think people are just moving this kind of real life activity to the internet where there is even more opportunity for self exploration.
