Thanks for your post, Joy. Some people do report how the anonymity of cyberspace does allow them to explore (healthy) new ways of relating to others. Often, it's people who are a bit under-expressive in the f2f world who feel free to loosen up a bit in cyberspace relationships. To me this seems to be a good thing, especially if the person can carry that change over to the f2f world. However, if the person can't bring those changes into their in-person relationships, and find themselves using cyberspace as a substitute because they feel more alive and "real" (like their true selves) there... that could become a problem. Cyberspace is wonderful, but I don't think we want to conduct all our most meaningful and intimate relationships there.
