PSYCHOLOGY OF CYBERSPACE

    "Me" on the internet

I think you're right, Dale, that some people on the
    internet have a bit of a "me" (i.e., self-focussed)
orientation. Sometimes I wonder if some people see
cyberspace and the people in it as extensions of
their own personal computer that is supposed to perform
tasks and address their needs, as do other
machines in their lives. For example, I sometimes
get terse email that reads something like this:

"I am working on a report about cyberspace relationships.
Send me information as soon as possible."

.... as if I am some kind of information-machine just
    waiting to serve.
