Request for help on developing a meditation program
Beth Egan · 12/10/98 at 11:18 PM ET

I am new to this discussion forum but grateful that it exists. I work at a university counseling center and another staff member and I would like to see a program offered next year to clients who would like to learn how to meditate. Our mission would be to help clients who experience anxiety and stress to learn mindfulness and relaxation skills. Both she and I have degrees in counseling psychology. While she and I have experience practicing meditation, neither of us has had any certified training. We are at the very beginning stages of conceiving this program. Is there any specific training we would need in order to teach this? Any ideas on where to start? Are there any manuals, books or articles that you would recommend? Thanks!
