 Holotropic Breathwork v. Rebirthing
I have participated in Holotropic Breathwork on several occasions, but I am unfamiliar with rebirthing. What I have read at this site concerning rebirthing does not sound very favorable, nor supportive of the participant after the process is over. I was particularly interested in the comment that the rebirthing process was a temporary thrill. Are there any rebirthers out there who can describe the process? Holotropic Breathwork has been incredibly therapeutic for me and I do not regard the effects of this work as temporary. In fact, I find it so important that I plan to do it more often. At the time of the first two sessions I did not have a formal meditation practice in process. But before the third time I did. It is still too soon to tell yet, but it seems I cleared out so much garbage out of my mind from meditating, that the third session was much more mellow. I felt as if the entire session was just like a calm, deep meditative session with a little stuff coming up, but not overwhelming. The framework and the group I do this work with is incredibly supportive. I have never felt so safe in a group as in a Holotropic Breathwork group. If anyone has done either of these I would like to know about your experiences of the process, particularly if you have done both.
