What follows depends on the responses of the 'subject.' Often 'the subject' says something like, 'my eyes are tiring' so I respond by saying, "close them if you like but imagine that you are continuing to look at that spot of the wall." That's the homework. It may take only a minute of two to give. Usually during the hypnotherapy session that follows I refer to 'the homework.' "I often say things like, you can do this as often as you want to or need to." Sometimes I begin the induction by asking 'the subject' to imagine that s/he is somewhere they feel comfortable actually doing their homework. If I'm asked something about meditation I usually say something like, "meditation is an art & a discipline. Facing the wall is facing the wall."
